Corum Admiral’s Cup AC-One 45 Regatta Watch – Powerful and Innovative

Corum is pleased to unveil its new Admiral’s Cup AC-One 45 Regatta watch. Having long partnered with the most prestigious regattas and sailors, including Loick Peyron and Ben Ainslie, the brand has now developed a caliber that provided a countdown function with a chronograph.

The new Corum watch has maintained all the classic features of the iconic Admiral’s Cup collection born in 1960.

The novelty is animated by a new automatic movement - Caliber CO 040, operating at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour and offering a 48-hour power-reserve. Its jumping countdown function can be adjusted from 0 to 10 minutes. Its numerical aperture display guarantees perfect readability. Its chronograph allows to time up to 12 hours of racing.

Prior to the first regatta signal, the watch owner programs the countdown function with help of the crown to the number of minutes according to the regatta standards at between 0 and 10 minutes, and then presses the pushbutton to make it run. If it is set to 10 minutes, the transition to 9 in the aperture pointed to by the red arrow is performed via a jump after 60 seconds. Then, the minutes left are marked off down to 0, and the final gun is fired signaling the start of the race. Using the regatta countdown function of the watch its wearer can set it incrementally to any given minute between the first and last sound signal before the race starts.

The extremely accurate chronograph is presented via a red central sweep-seconds hand and 30-minute and 12-hour counters positioned at 12 and 6 o’clock respectively. It continues running to count off up to 12 hours of racing.

The case, 45 mm in diameter, is rendered in grade 5 titanium and reflects the signature identity codes of the collection - an iconic 12-sided bezel and the inner bezel ring bearing the nautical pennants.

The case demonstrates alternating polished and satin-brushed finishes. There are black PVD-coated inserts embedded between the middle of the case and back and between the bezel and the middle of the case. The case-construction is 300-meter water-resistant. It is built with a transparent sapphire crystal case-back that allows to admire the beauty of Caliber CO 040 and its black PVD-coated oscillating weight.

The black dial is completed with hour-markers and hands provided with light-colored Superluminova. The glance is caught by extremely sporty red accents.
